Se desarrolla e implementa\u00a0t\u00e9cnicas de cultivo de c\u00e9lulas primarias y l\u00edneas celulares de c\u00e1ncer, cultivos que se utilizan como modelos biol\u00f3gicos in vitro para la investigaci\u00f3n de metabolitos secundarios y biomol\u00e9culas derivadas de plantas u otras fuentes biol\u00f3gicas de nuestra biodiversidad, as\u00ed como de nanomateriales para estudiar su Carlos Arenas Ch\u00e1vez<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<div class='ekit-heading__description'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Bi\u00f3logo Molecular, Docente de la Universidad Nacional de San Agust\u00edn de Arequipa Investigador del Laboratorio de Biolog\u00eda y Cultivo Celular. Realiz\u00f3 investigaciones referidas al estudio de la capacidad antioxidante, actividad anticancer\u00edgena e identificaci\u00f3n de polifenoles individuales de la Ligaria cuneifolia (liga liga) y otras plantas medicinales (Minthostachis mollis, Mutisia acuminata, Senecio sublutescens, Lippia nodiflora). Actualmente su l\u00ednea de investigaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 centrada en el estudio de los mecanismos exigenticos (metilaci\u00f3n del DNA, modificaci\u00f3n de histonas, remodelaci\u00f3n de la cromatina y ncRNA) implicados en la regulaci\u00f3n de la expresi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica en c\u00e1ncer, as\u00ed como en la diferenciaci\u00f3n celular. Como parte del grupo de investigaci\u00f3n en nanotecnolog\u00eda de la UNSA, participa en el desarrollo de bionanomateriales con aplicaciones biom\u00e9dicas, as\u00ed como en la evaluaci\u00f3n citot\u00f3xica de las nanopart\u00edculas y nanomateriales sintetizados por el
